This project aims to provide
the facility for near real-time guidance
of cardiac surgical procedures, using the
real-time ultrasound to register and synchronize
the pre-operative dynamic 3-D MR/CT images.
The research mainly focuses on rapid identification
and extraction of homologous regions/structures
and rapid registration of pre-operative
dynamic 3-D MR/CT images and intra-operative
ultrasound images to produce high quality
images that accurately reflect the state
of the patient's heart during surgery.
