Human-computer Interaction in Minimally Invasive Interventions

RESEARCH INTERESTS

I am currently investigating the human factors involved when a surgeon is interacting with multi-modal images and display techniques during various types of minimally invasive surgeries. Extracting common surgical tasks across cardiac, renal and hepatic surgeries and seeing whether augmented image guidance can improve visibility and coordination will be important for setting up usability rules for the next generation of minimally invasive surgery and therapy tools.
