One Busy Hawaiian Groove Band

June is festival month in Toronto and there's one for everybody. This year, it seems, there are a lot - an inordinate lot - betting their artistic reputations and fiscal futures on the inclusion of a certain lyric-liberated Toronto-based Hawaiian groove band:

June 1st, the Guelph Spring Festival. Hens with string section, perhaps?

of June, Oasis, 10:00 pm. The mighty NXNE. After our triumph at SXSW, how
could we say no to this, especially with a crisp c-note dangling?

What. The Downtown Toronto Jazz Festival (peripherally) manages to book an
exhausted Hanks.

June 26, Harbourfront.
The Power Plant virtually bases its As A Leading Edge Contemporary Gallery
The Hens Are The Only Band For Us festival around - who else? We realize,
too late for our loyal fandom, that this one is a private affair.
And on and on it goes towards autumn. The bottom line is now transparent: The Henrys will say yes to any lame excuse for a festival offering any feeble amount of pay because, quite frankly, we knead the bread.
