FujiYoshida

The FujiYoshida hostel has nice rooms, and a really great bath.

Soft floors are a real bonus, especially for Kirk who is starting to miss his car.

We were hoping to hike up Mt. Fuji, but we hadn't counted on the typhoon. Fortunately only the edge of it hit us. Well, except for Kirk, who was stranded at the Tokyo airport in the middle of it.

Instead we visited the caves in the area. The pictures were rather unexciting, so I haven't included any of them.

The sign says ROAD HEATING AREA END. Not only do they have heated toilet seats in Japan, they have heated roads, too!

When it rains, Japan looks even greener than usual.

The miniature Isuzu flatbed at the side of the picture is not a toy.

Typical modern Japanese house. Complete with a bamboo fence and a very well-cared for pine tree.

Next: Kyoto.

All the images.
