Background

I am a research associate at Robarts Research Institute, Assistant Professor at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Adjunct Research Professor at the Department of Medical Biophysics, and a member of the Biomedical Engineering graduate program at Western University.

My research area is the general field of image-guided surgical interventions, applying techniques from the field of computer vision, computer graphics, image processing, and robotics to assist surgeons in their surgical deliveries. In addition to these, I am also interested in the biomechanics of human joints, both natural and artificial.

I am a computer scientist by training. I am a Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) Limited Engineering Licensee (LEL).

I am currently serving as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging (IEEE TMI), an Area Chair for both the Information Processing in Computer Assisted Interventions (IPCAI) and the Medical Image Computing and Computer Assisted Intervention conferences (MICCAI), and as a member of the Program Committee of the International Society for Optics and Photonics (SPIE) Medical Imaging.

A full list of my publication can be found at my google scholar profile.
