Pointers for scholarship applicants:

• Attend information sessions provided for applicants - they will give you some great tips to help fill out applications
• Read all the instructions to applicants and ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria
• "Recruit" referees for letters of reference well ahead of time and provide them with all information and forms necessary. Ensure that all your information is already filled in to these forms. Inform them of deadlines.
• Order your transcrips ahead of time, if required
• Talk to past successful scholarship applicants (see list of winners here) - get some tips and ask if you can see their applications as a guideline (doesn't hurt and may save you a lot of time!)
• Get a scientist (ie your supervisor) or colleague to read over your application
